The short version
- We keep what we need to run Seekstar for you, and nothing is sold or used for advertising.
- Without an account, your skies stay in your browser.
- With an account, your skies, deep dives and drafts are stored on our servers so they follow you.
- Payments are handled by Paddle; we never see your card details.
- You can delete your account, and everything in it, at any time.
What we collect
- Account: your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your name and profile picture.
- Your content: the words and stars of your skies, the path you took, deep-dive conversations and drafts. Signed out, these are kept only in your browser (IndexedDB). Signed in, they are synced to our database.
- Usage records: for each AI request, the time, the kind of request, the number of words processed, its cost, and a device identifier and IP address. We use these to apply plan limits and prevent abuse.
- Subscription records: your Paddle customer and subscription identifiers, plan, status and renewal dates.
- Product analytics and errors: anonymous events about which features are used, and crash reports.
Who processes it
- Cloudflare hosts the app and its database.
- Anthropic (Claude) generates stars, deep-dive replies and drafts. Each request contains the words needed for it — the star, its path, the conversation or the sky being written up — and no account details.
- Paddle is our reseller and Merchant of Record: it processes payments, taxes, invoices and refunds under its own privacy policy.
- Google handles sign-in if you choose it; Resend delivers sign-in emails.
- PostHog (product analytics; session replay off, inputs masked) and Sentry (error reports, with authorization headers removed).
Sharing
A sky is private unless you share it. A shared sky can be viewed by anyone with its link, together with the name on your account (never your email). There is no public directory.
How long we keep it
- Deleted skies are removed for good 30 days after you delete them.
- Deleting your account removes your account, skies, deep dives and drafts. Usage and subscription records are kept, no longer linked to you, for accounting and abuse prevention.
Your choices
You can use Seekstar without an account, export any sky, and delete your account from the Account page. To ask what we hold about you or to correct it, email hello@seekstar.app.
